Somali FM conveys condolences over killing of five Pakistan nationals

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Foreign Minister of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Omar telephoned Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan on Thursday to express condolences over the tragic incident involving the killing of five Pakistani nationals at Galkayo, Somalia. He assured the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs that the government of Somalia was doing its utmost to apprehend the culprits.

The Minister of State thanked him for the call urging the government of Somalia to facilitate early repatriation of the five other members of the group as well as the remains of those killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistan High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya, which is concurrently accredited to Somalia, is in touch with Somali authorities to expedite the repatriation of five Pakistanis.

The High Commission is also in touch with those two Pakistan nationals who sustained injuries at the incident.

Additional Secretary (Africa) Mohammad Aslam called the Ambassador of Somalia to the Foreign Office.

The Additional Secretary, inter alia, urged the Somali government to facilitate immediate repatriation of five Pakistanis.

The Ambassador assured of their full cooperation in the matter.
