Somali Puntland President praises Saleh’s national positions

101011215632-92333-0Bartamaha (San’a):- President of the Somali Puntland State Abdilrahman Mohamed Mahmoud has praised the national stances of President Ali Abdullah Saleh included in his speech delivered in front of the Arab extraordinary summit held on Saturday in Libya in which he called for allocating a monthly support for Somalia to help it improve its situation.

In a press conference held in Sana’a on Monday at the end of his 10-day visit to Yemen, Puntland President considered it a further step by Yemen to rectify in the situation in Somalia.

He affirmed that his talks with Yemeni officials were successful and came out with positive results contributing to reinforcing cooperation aspects between Puntland State and Yemen within the Yemeni-Somali relations.

Mohammed made clear that his talks with President Saleh and government officials focused on the latest developments in Somalia and means of reinforcing its security and stability, in addition to joint cooperation issues in fields of oil, minerals and fisheries.

The meetings also thrashed out sea piracy, smuggling and counterterrorism, and Yemen support for the State of Puntland in media mass aspects as well as, he said.
