Somali President appoints new mayor for capital

GUDOOMIYAHAMogadishu — The transitional government officials have held ceremony for appointing new administration for Banadir region in Mogadishu on Friday and appointed new governor for the region replacing the former mayor of the Somali capital Mr.Mohamed Osman Ali (Dhagahtur).

The ceremony was held in the presidential palace in Mogadishu and attended by TFG president Sharif Sheik Ahmed, parliament speaker Sheik Aden Madobe, and more of the cabinet ministers and parliamentarians in the capital.

A declaration from the Somali president Sharif Sheik Ahmed was read before the attendees of the ceremony by Abdirahin Isse Adow, the coordinator of the ceremony and said as he was reading:-

1) Abdirisak Mohamed Nur was appointed to be the governor and mayor of the Somali capital Mogadishu in Banadir region.

2) Abdirisak Dahir Abdulle, the deputy governor of Banadir region for the political and social affairs.

3) Warsame Mohamed Hassan, the second deputy governor of Banadir region for peace and stability.

4) Iman Nor Ikar, the third deputy governor of Banadir region for the economic and administration.

Mohamed Osman Ali ( Dagah tur), the former governor of Banadir region and his deputy who were in the ceremony had talked their feeling saying that he was very glad his dismissal and congratulated to the new mayor of Banadir region Mr. Abdirisak Mohamed Nur and his administration.

The Somali president Sharif Sheik Ahmed had also talked at the ceremony and congratulated first to the new nominated members thanking to the former administration of Banadir region who present at the ceremony saying that there are problems which he said that the government was planning to start a crackdown.

Lastly the newly appointed members of the Banadir region were ordered to complete the administration with in 20 days to start their duty of the Banadir region.
