rt raybak somaliMinneapolis police said Sunday afternoon that a second juvenile has been arrested in connection with the killing of three people at  Seward Market and Halal meats on Wednesday.

Capt. Amelia Huffman said at a news conference that the youth turned himself in. Investigators believe they now have the two suspects who were in the store at the time of the shooting.

Here is a Kare11 Video (Watch)

The second suspect is a 17-year-old male from Minneapolis, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday for the crime, but police would not discuss his possible role in the homicides.

Police said the Somali community was instrumental in turning up leads in the case.

Chief Tim Dolan said he did not believe the killings were part of a larger pattern of crime.

Investigators are preparing charging documents, which will be turned over to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office for action, Dolan said.

He said he hopes the two juvenile suspects will be charged as adults. He said he didn’t know how soon charges would be filed.

Cousins Abdifatah Warfa and Mohamed Warfa and Anwar Mohammed were all killed about 7:45 p.m. at the market on E. Franklin Avenue and 25th Avenue S. The men were buried Friday.

The murders marked a violent week in Minneapolis. Five people have been killed in Minneapolis so far this year, and a toddler was grazed by a bullet while being carried off a buy Saturday morning.

The PEACE Foundation and MADDADS, anti-violence activists,  was to hold a prayer vigil for the city’s first homicide victim, Dontae Johnson, this afternoon at 2 p.m.

This is a developing story, check back for details.
