Kenyan border guards capture 5 Somali migrants in Mandere town

Bartamaha (Nairobi):-Kenyan border guards have captured 5 Somali migrants in Mandere, a bordering town in north of Kenya and arrested in a jail in the town, witnesses said on Friday.
Witnesses said that the 5 Somalis were detained by the Kenyan troops in jails as they were from the bordering town of Balad-hawo to Mandere in Kenya adding that some of the detainees were released as the Kenyan forces took money from the prisoners.
“The Kenyan troops do not respect us as refugees. When ever they see the Somalis in Mandere town or other bordering towns, they detain and as ask money for the Somalis. They release only who gives them money and beat, detain the others in jails,” said one of the Somali migrants released.
The Kenyan government did not start crackdown activities protecting brutal actions against the Somali people and committing by its security forces in more different towns in Kenya like Nairobi, Mombassa and the big cities of the Kenya.
“The Kenyan border guards take Kenyan shillings equivalent to $7 dollars each person then they will release you. We have great difficulties for crossing the border between Somalia and Kenya. We run away from our houses due to the bitter fighting in Mogadishu to get good life and stability in Kenya,” Ali Ahmed.
More of the Somali people expressed concern about the problems of from the Kenyan troops in the border between the two countries and the arrest comes as there had been more Somalis fleeing from fighting in Somalia and pouring into the neighboring Kenya and Ethiopia in search of good life and shelter.
