Canadian Somali Congress National President interviewed by Nil Koksal of CBC News as part of a television series entitled “Canadian Dream.” The series examines the successes and challenges facing different communities in Canada. This particular segment centered on the brutal campaign of violence and terror waged by the Al Shabaab terrorist group in Somalia. The interview also touched on the efforts that Canadian Somalis have made in pushing back against this terrorist group’s efforts to recruit Canadian Somali youth into their cause and the different ways in which the Canadian Somali Congress is working hard to ensure that this community succeeds in Canada.
