Colbert Takes On Glenn Beck’s Advertiser Exodus (VIDEO)
Stephen Colbert rushed to Glenn Beck’s defense last night after news broke that several advertisers have pulled out of Beck’s show. Procter and Gamble, Lawyers.com, Progressive Insurance, and more declined to be associated with Beck’s program after he called President Obama a racist on a July episode of “Fox & Friends.”
In a segment called “Glenn-Harried Glenn-Lost,” Colbert explained that Beck didn’t call Obama a racist, but said he believed Obama was a racist, which is totally different. “The problem is too many people only focus on the first half of what Glenn Beck says, not the second half where he immediately disavows the first half, or maybe they’re confused by the third half when he repeats the first half. And, yes, you can half three halves except in a society where the government has death panels for fractions.”
