SOMALIA, Mogadishu: In a photograph released by the African Union-United Nations Information Support Team 2 February, British Foreign Secretary William Hague gestures after arriving at Mogadishu International Airport in the Somali capital. Hague was today the first British Foreign Secretary to set foot in Somalia for over 20 years, where he met with the leadership of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and the president of the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, and formally introducing the credentials of the UK’s new ambassador to the country, Mark Baugh.
