Somalia: Three Citizens Detainees Die in Libyan Jails
At least three Somali detainees died and three others are in a very critical condition after facing livelihood difficulties in the Libyan jails, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Tuesday.
Sources said that about 60 Somali immigrants are in the jails of Libya adding that most of the detainees are complaining about more different problems of the livelihood and brutal actions committing by the security guars of jails.
Abdinasir Abdijalil, one of the Somali detainees confirmed Shabelle radio that Somalis are tortured, killed and committed actions against the humanity by the prison guards of Copra jail in the border that Libya has with Sudan and Chad.
Abdinasir also said that some of the Somali detainees of that prison had died already while some others are in comma due to malnutrition, famine and diseases pointing out that they also met brutal actions out of the law from the security guards there in Libya.
The death of the Somali imigratnts in the Libyan jails comes as the transitional government president Sharif Sheik Ahmed is currently in Libyan capital Tripoli and they All called for the president to tackle their release soon as possible to get their freedom back.
