Somalia: President Sharif Returns Home
Bartamaha (Mogadishu ):- A high delegation led by the president of the transitional government Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed has Monday returned to the Somali capital Mogadishu, just after visiting several countries in abroad.
Officials told Shabelle radio that the president had left from the Kenyan capital Nairobi and landed at the international airport of Aden Adde in Mogadishu on Monday morning and reached to his presidential palace adding that he visited several countries like Britain, Ethiopia, United Arab Emirates and Kenya where he lastly flew today.
The movement of the traffic, business and people on the street that connects between Villa Somalia, the presidential palace and the international airport was blockaded by the government soldiers and AMISOM to assure the security though it had been reopened later.
Reports say that the Somali president Sheik Sharif had left from the country as he was invited by British authorities adding that he met with many high British officials in London and talked more with Somalia and the Somali community in Britain.
During the tour in Britain, president Sheik Sharif was promised that the British government would fully support the transitional government of Somalia to build and support the institutions of the government.
The president also met publicly to the Somali community suggesting them to support the TFG pointing out that many people from Europe were those who commit insecurity actions in Somalia.
The Somali president had also met with high delegation led by the Somali prime minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharma’arke and other officials in Ethiopia as he left from London where he lastly flew to Dubai, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates where he also attended a conference named “Somalia and wisdom of the Sharia law” with high clerics of the UAE on Somalia.
High officials of the transitional government and the African Union troops AMISOM had welcomed the president at the airport and led to his house in Mogadishu though he did not yet talked to the reporters in the capital.
