Mogadishu — Somalia Prime Minister H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed on Thursday 31st March met with the UK envoy to Somalia Mr. Matt Baugh at his office in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

The Prime Minister thanked Matt and the UK delegation that paid him a courtesy call at his office since it was his first time to visit Mogadishu and also be in the Somali Primer Minister office.

H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed the Somali PM thanked the UK government for its continued support towards humanitarian assistance in Somalia and called on the UK to continue in assisting the Somali people.

On his part Matt Baugh thanked the Somalia prime Minister for the warm reception and also briefed the PM over his trip to Puntland as well as the issues he discussed with the Puntland administration.

Top on the talks was the 27th March decision by the Somali cabinet to extend their mandate as well as the Presidential poll by 12 more months so that the Transitional federal government may put into place measures that will see transparent free and fair elections as well as improve the Transitional Federal Institutions.

The two heads agreed that there was need for peace and sanity to be restored to Somalia and that time was ripe for an end to Transitional period and a need for a long lasting stable and steady Somali government.
