New Deal conference commences in Mogadishu amid dispute between top leaders
Mogadishu (Bartamaha) A New Deal conference attended by Somali federal government top leaders, United Nations, European Union and International community officials had commenced in Mogadishu’s highly guarded Adden Adde International Airport.
The Conference on the New Deal program for Somalia intended to realise a stable Somali Federal government was attended by Somali President Hassan Shiekh Mohamud, Prime Minister Abdiweli Shiekh Ahmed as well as senior EU and UN officials.
The conference is expected to focus on the Copenhegen Conference on Somalia expected to kick off in Denmark in the coming month, where Somalia’s vision of 2016 will be discussed.
Reports indicate that, the international diplomats attending the conference may hold talks with the President Mohamud and Prime Minister Ahmed to bring the political tension in the country into and end.
