NEW BOOK: Pirate State

pirate-state(PORTLAND, Ore.) – From Pirate State: “…the young Somalis are given about one hundred dollars a month. Somali youth are highly susceptible to religious dogma, he says, despite the many contradictions between reality and what is preached. “No one thinks about it because there is no education. They can’t question these guys. They’ve never seen a school.” Al-Shabaab recruits are easily taught to kill because a typical young Somali “doesn’t know the viability of peace or the love and happiness of life. At nine or ten, he is given a gun. He values nothing. He does not value life because he does not know the value of life. He has never known peace.”

Human Trafficking, Arms Dealing, Drug Smuggling, Extortion, Illegal Visas!!! Somalia is a failed world state, the solution has to come from an empathetic, international community.

Pirate State presents the problem and expects those that read to act, as they should with knowledge and fortitude. An incredible knowledge base and intensely researched, this no holds bar book should be on the desk of every politico in our nation and beyond.

Peter Eichsteadt has held all accountable: the United States, European Union and African Union. A Gripping, page turner that has shown through proof and experience that if one continues to turn a blind eye we will see the same pattern grow into other worldly failed states. Once read, you are marked with the knowledge and compelled to reach out and effect change.

Not a single person can afford to walk away and continue to believe that this is an “African Problem”, this is a world problem. Peter Eichstaedt has drawn us all a map, it is our responsibility to follow the voices and help those that need our hands of support. The picture drawn is of a small, tiny spark of hope still subsiding in the deepest of layers, in the home of those caught in the world’s largest refugee camp.

Wedged between war and chaos is a beautiful world of people; strong in mind and heart that will overcome adversity if given the opportunity to excel, and given the full support of the international world. The global obligation should be to bring light to these courageous people and allow them the chance to flourish.

For far too long, Somalia has been ignored and pushed farther back on the priority list. Pirate State offers a rare open door look into the world of the forgotten and those that have become so desperate to survive they have joined a network that puts them at even greater risk. This book has shown how those in power chose to turn away and allow our most vulnerable of people to be taken advantage of and used to promote a world of extreme violence; one that is capable of extreme destruction. What is learned and tolerated in one place can easily be expanded into others, the attack on the US-flagged Maersk Alabama shows that the Americans are just as susceptible as any other.

Shown in great detail, with many confirmations within the highest of echelons in all forms of politics, humanitarian aid and those risking their lives to give knowledge and experience; Pirate State has shown the rise in ability to shift and assimilate. When given a desperate situation, those that need will acclimate, improve tactics and strategies to bring about their survival even if that means the annihilation of one or many!
