Mogadishu: Somalis celebrate Eid Ul Fitr
Mogadishu (BARTAMAHA) Somali people are celebrating today on Monday for the occasion of Eidul Fitr to mark the end of the Holy Ramadan Month, which is one of the most sacred months in the Islamic calendar.
The celebrations across the nation started on Sunday evening after the government’s ministry of religious endowment announced the end of Ramadan month on 29 days and that on Monday will be the first day of Eidul Fitr.
Celebrations continued similarly in Mogadishu, the south central regions, the northeastern regions of Puntland and as well as Somaliland regions without any division of the day of Eidul Fitr.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Osman Jawari together gave a pres conference on Sunday evening as they congratulated the people of Somalia and the Muslims in the world on the Eidul Fitr.
