Mogadishu Mayor Condemns Al Shabaab
Bartamaha (Mogadishu ) :— The administration of Benadir region under the transitional federal government of Somalia on Saturday charged Al shabaab with committing harmful actions against Somali civilians in the areas they run.
Mohamoud Ahmed Nur, better known as Tarzan has told reporters in Mogadishu that Al shabaab are not ready to work with the people working towards creating and bringing peace and tranquility back to Somalia.
He said they are responsible the anarchy and mayhem in Somalia.
“Somali government is ready to help Somali people live in am peaceful environment.” Nur was quoted as saying.
Mogadishu mayor also warned businessmen against importing expired food and drugs to the nation.
“These are bags are full of maize, wheat, floor and rice. All have already expired” Nur told reporters in Mogadishu, adding that the sacks will set on fire to avert the spread of disease.
It is the first time Mogadishu’s new administration was forced to seize and destroy expired food.
Somalia has not had a functioning and centralized government able to thoroughly control the country since 1991.
