Joint security forces disarm and take over the houses of two politicians in Mogadishu
Mogadishu (BARTAMAHA) The Security forces of Somalia Federal Government backed by AMISOM police raided ad took over the houses of two political leaders in Wadajir district in Mogadishu.
The security operation started with heavy armed clash between the joint security forces and the armed militia loyal to former Wadajir District Commissioner Ahmed Hassan Adow [better known as Daaci] and Abdullahi Sheikh Hassan, a former warlord and politician.
According to sources at least 11 people were killed in the early morning battle in Mogadishu, among them civilians whose houses were hit with stray bullets.
The securiy forces later overpowered the armed militia and arrested at least 25 armed men from the two houses.
Ahmed Daaci who sp0ke to RBC Radio said he left his home and that he has not any information about his home after he fled. He denied that he had well armed militia who confronted the security forces.
The forces also confiscated catch of arms and amount of ammunition stored in these two houses.
There officials leading the operation of the Federal Government of Somalia did not provide any details yet to the media concerning the ongoing operation in the capital city.
