At least 10 people were killed and 16 others injured on Wednesday when a convoy of African Union peacekeeping mission troops stepped on a landmine near Afgoye town in southern Somalia .Meanwhile, Somali President Abdullahi Fermajo has been on a regional tour, aimed at garnering support for what he called a renewed fight against al-Shabab militants.
Both Ethiopia and Djibouti have expressed solidarity with Somalia, and vowed to help defeat the insurgents. CGTN’S Girum Chala has more.
