Does This Google Veterans Day Logo Look Muslim to You?
Google’s Veterans Day Logo Is Making Crazy People Crazy
Google Doodle celebrates Veterans Day 2010. And for the first time ever (based on my memory), the search engine giant is under fire after accidentally forming a “crescent” below the American flag.
Google joined millions of Americans today in celebrating the Veterans Day 2010. This day is a federal holiday observed every November 11th.
But the celebration of the search engine giant is “not so popular” to some Americans after the Doodle accidentally formed a “crescent” below the American Flag. Gawker.com is already running an article about it, featuring some of the comments made in Twitter world.
“Does This Google Veterans Day Logo Look Muslim to You?”Gawker asked their readers.
How the “crescent” was formed?
Well, it’s a big accident actually. Google’s Doodle is the company’s way of celebrating important holidays and events. And based on their previous works, they love to change one of the letters in G-O-O-G-L-E with any item/s related to the event, like this one. Google changed the letter L with the American flag, and accidentally, the American flag was illustrated covering the letter E.
Note, Google’s letter E’s original color is actually red. So this is just pure accident.
But this one is serious, Associated Content (owned by Yahoo.com), posted an article, condemning Google’s Doodle. William Browning wrote:
“In a civilized society we need to show respect. We show respect by opening the door for the elderly. We show respect by thanking a soldier for fighting for us. We show respect by saluting the flag when in uniform. We show respect by not desecrating someone’s sacred symbol.”
Human eyes also commit mistakes, that’s why ghosts were invented.
