CBC news item examining the difficulties faced by the Canadian government as it attempts to deport dozens of individuals from Canada to Somalia. It is not certain that the Canadian government will be able to complete these deportations because it outsources the job to Kenyan agents who do not observe basic human rights standards and who have exposed these deportees to lethal danger in Somalia.

The difficulty is that deportation to certain violent parts of Somalia is tantamount to a death sentence. Canadian courts have disallowed the release of these men into Canadian society but at the same time they cannot be easily deported to certain parts of Somalia due to anarchy and generalized violence.

In addition to this, the two regional governments of Puntland and Somaliland have stopped accepting any more deportees from Canada.
