Three Kenyan soldiers killed by assailants
Three Kenyan soldiers in plainclothes were shot dead by assailants in Garissa near the border with Somalia on Monday while changing a flat tyre at a car garage.
The attack on the soldiers came a day after a bomb was thrown at a moving vehicle in Nairobi, killing 10 people.
The British High Commission in Nairobi Monday advised its citizens to exercise extreme caution and avoid any gatherings in Nairobi’s Eastleigh suburb.
Business premises closed in Eastleigh, on Monday as police engaged riotous youths in running battles along Juja Road in wake of a minibus (matatu) explosion.
Initial reports indicated that the youths were targeting civilians of Somali origin.
Anti-riot police were heavily deployed to the Eastleigh area in the mid-morning to repulse the stone-throwing youths.
