Somalia Hundreds of Nationals Jailed in Nairobi
Nairobi — About hundred of Somali people have been jailed by Kenyan police forces in Eastleigh, a neighborhood in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, witnesses said on Monday.
Reports from the Somali residents in Eastleigh say that the Kenyan police forces conducted operations in the neighborhood where most of the Somalis have businesses centers there in Kenya adding that troops arrested more than 100 Somalis.
It is unclear the main reason of the government, but sources indicate that some of the government authorities said that Kenya had suspicion of pouring Islamist fighters in Eastleigh neighborhood and operations aimed at protecting fears of attacks against the government centers in Nairobi.
The operations against the Somali people in Nairobi comes as Islamist fighters seized Dobley town near the border between Somalia and Kenya recently.
