Former leader of Hirshabelle State Ali Abdullahi Osoble has relocated to Beledweyn town in Hiiraan region and insisted that he will continue his role as the President of Hirshabellle State rejecting the State Assembly’s vote against him mid this month.
Speaking at a news conference shortly after he landed in Beledweyn on Tuesday, Mr. Osoble made serious allegations against President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire saying they worked against the state.
“I am the legitimate leader of Hirshabelle. There is no way to quit from the responsibility and mandate the people have given me.” he said.
He alleged the Federal Government to have captured Jowhar, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle.
“I will continue to work here in Beledweyne as Jowhar was captured by the Federal Government. If al-Shabaab captures a town, you should move to an alternative town to work. Now we shall work in Beledweyn.” he added.
Mr. Osoble also nullified the on-going process which the State Assembly in Jowhar are preparing to elect new leader to succeed Osoble leadership following the Parliamentary vote of no confidence in August 14.
“There is not any legitimate group who have the power to hold election, as I am the elected leader in office.” he told reporters.
At the airport, Mr. Osoble was welcomed by his clansmen including the Hawadle clan elders in Beledweyn.
